Push-ups score up to 25 IPPT points. The reps you need depend on your age group — here is the exact milestone table.

Minimum reps to reach at least each point level, from the exact scoring table (some point values are skipped by the table — the next available score is shown).
Push-ups are done for 1 minute and score up to 25 of your 100 IPPT points. Younger servicemen need more reps for the same points — an under-22 needs 15 reps just to open scoring, while a 58–60 serviceman needs only 2. Full marks need 60 reps for under-22s, but only 40 reps for the oldest group.
The cheapest points are at the bottom of the table: going from 1 to 10 points takes only a few extra reps. Train 3–4 sets near your max, 3 times a week, and re-test every 2 weeks. Compare your next push-up point with your next run point — the run is often cheaper.
60 reps if you are under 22 — and far fewer as you get older: the 58–60 group needs only 40 reps for full points.
15 reps for under-22s, falling to just 2 reps for age 58–60. Scoring zero push-up points fails your whole IPPT.
