Why the Run Matters Most

The run is worth 50 points — as much as push-ups and sit-ups combined. One minute off your 2.4km time is usually worth more points than ten extra reps on either static station, which is why most servicemen should train the run first. Note how sharply points fall at slower times for younger groups: an under-22 at 16:00 scores only 1 point.

Pacing Guide

Divide your target time by 2.4 for your per-kilometre pace. A 12:00 run needs an even 5:00/km; a 10:00 run needs 4:10/km. Run the first lap controlled — blowing up in lap 4 costs more than a fast start gains.

Frequently Asked Questions

How fast do I need to run 2.4km for full points?

8:30 or faster earns the maximum 50 points for under-22s, and older groups keep full points at slower times — the oldest group still scores 50 at 10:50.

How many points is a 12:30 2.4km run worth?

It depends on age: 30 points for under-22s and 34 points at age 28–30, from the exact scoring table.
