Three vocations are held to a higher IPPT Gold standard. Everything else about the test is the same — but those 5 extra points change the whole plan.
Calculate My IPPT Score →| Award | Standard vocations | Commando / Diver / Guard | Incentive |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gold | 85–100 | 90–100 | $500 |
| Silver | 75–84 | 75–89 | $300 |
| Pass with Incentive | 61–74 | 61–74 | $200 |
| Pass (NSmen) | 51–60 | 51–60 | — |
The scoring tables themselves do not change — the same age-group tables, the same 25/25/50 structure, the same 1-point-per-station rule. Only the Gold line moves. Our calculator handles it: tick "Commando / Diver / Guard (Gold = 90)" and every threshold, including the next-award gap, adjusts.
At 90, there is almost no slack: a typical route needs near-max statics plus a run inside the top bands for your age group. Work backwards with the Target Planner — set Gold, enter honest reps, and see the slowest run that still lands 90. Then check the run against the Pace Calculator lap splits. Leave a buffer: plan for 91–92 in training so one bad station on the day does not cost you $200 of difference.
For the standard route and per-age-group Gold combinations, see IPPT Gold Score.
These elite vocations are held to a higher fitness standard: their Gold threshold is 90 points instead of the standard 85. All other bands and the scoring tables are unchanged.
Yes — the incentive amounts are the same ($500 Gold, $300 Silver, $200 Pass with Incentive); only the Gold points threshold is higher.
No. Silver still starts at 75 — which means the Silver band runs 75–89 for these vocations, since Gold starts at 90.
