Excused from a station is not excused from IPPT. If the SAF Medical Board exempts you from one or both static stations, a different, pro-rated pass mark applies.
Calculate My IPPT Score →From MINDEF's published answers on ask.gov.sg, NSmen with partial exemption must attain a pro-rated passing standard on the remaining stations:
| Your test | Stations | Pass standard |
|---|---|---|
| One static station exempt | 1 static + 2.4km run | 39 points or more, out of 75 |
| Both static stations exempt | 2.4km run only | 26 points or more, out of 50 |
Our IPPT Calculator applies this automatically: tick "Push-ups exempt" and/or "Sit-ups exempt" and the total, maximum and pass mark adjust. You still need at least 1 point in every station you do take.
MINDEF states plainly: NSmen who are exempted from any static stations will not be eligible for monetary incentive awards. Partial exemption is a pass/fail standard only — there is no pro-rated $200/$300/$500. Any calculator that shows you award money under exemption is guessing; ours shows Pass or Fail only. Full award rules: IPPT Incentives.
An SAF Medical Board may grant permanent or temporary medical exemption from a maximum of the two static stations (the 2.4km run is never the exempted station in this scheme). If you believe you have medical grounds, make an appointment with your unit Medical Officer.
Do not confuse the two. Partial exemption = excused in advance, pro-rated pass, no incentives. Partial failure = you took all three stations, reached 51+ but scored 0 in a static station; you retest only that station within 90 days or before your window ends. See What Happens If You Fail IPPT.
39 points or more out of 75 if one static station is exempt (one static plus run), and 26 or more out of 50 if both static stations are exempt (run only) — MINDEF's pro-rated standards.
No. MINDEF states that NSmen exempted from any static station are not eligible for monetary incentive awards.
No — medical exemptions in this scheme cover up to the two static stations. The run is always taken.
